It's pretty much our favorite time of year around here. The weather's just starting to turn hot, and we're all headed toward various bodies of water for the comfort and adventure summer vacation brings.

 

This can only mean one thing: It's time to pack the beach bag full of the perfect lazy summer reads.

Stumped on what to get mom for Mother's Day? We're happy to announce we've collected our staff's favorite mother's day gifts: classic books, beautiful journals, colorful containers, and locally-made notepads. Stop by this week to take a look at what we've got in stock; we're open Saturday until 6:00 for those of you who prefer to do a little last minute shopping. 

 

Here's what we think you should be gifting the moms in your life: 

• ShedRain umbrella: These umbrellas are heavy-duty and adorable. She'll never need another one. 
• Sloane Ranger tote bag: We think these Southern, canvas bags are perfect for the beach. Stuff with a few beach reads or the newest copy of Real Simple for a thoughtful Mother's Day treat. 
• Caroline Kennedy's Poems to Learn by Heart: We know grown-ups might think this book is just for kids, but the beautiful illustrations make this a unique coffee table book sure to launch literary conversations.  
• Rifle Paper Co. stationery: You know how much we love this Winter Park-based company. Their floral, watercolor-inspired notepads are nice for organized moms on the go. 
• Chewing the Cud baskets: These cotton baskets were a big hit for Easter, and we think they'd make the perfect containers for a succulent or two. (You could support your local nursery too!)
• Great with Child: Letters to a Young Mother: This sweet collection of letters is a popular baby shower gift, but we're fans of it for Mother's Day, too. Young moms would especially appreciate this pretty little book.
