Today, The Bookshelf opened a new location in Midtown Tallahassee (inside Lucy and Leo's Cupcakery). Don't worry, we aren't leaving Thomasville, just expanding. Starting in mid-June, L&L's will sell cupcakes from their very own counter, inside The Bookshelf. For our Tallahassee friends, come visit the new Bookshelf Midtown location (1123 Thomasville Rd, Tues-Sat 10am-6pm).

When a book and a cupcake love each other very much...they create a  Book and Cupcake Pairing Contest!

To celebrate the partnership of two GREAT businesses, The Bookshelf and Lucy & Leo’s Cupcakery, we are hosting a pairing contest. The winner of the best pairing will win a free copy of their book and a free cupcake. Plus, we will feature our top book/cupcake creations in our stores as part of our grand opening celebration.

The rules are simple: create your own book+cupcake match! If your favorite book was a cupcake, what would it be? When you bite into a delicious morsel of cupcake delight, what book springs to mind? Share your pairings on our Facebook Event page.

Think Literally: Pair The Help with a rich chocolate cake, fudgey filling, and meringue frosting.

Think Figuratively: Flannery O’Connor’s “A Good Man is Hard to Find” would be best served with a blood-tinted Red Velvet Cupcake, a southern treat with subtle hints of devil’s food.

Think Creatively: Kid favorite, Pinkalicious, deserves a kaleidoscope of pink-colored flavors: strawberry cake, raspberry glaze, and pink lemonade frosting.
