Smart, suspenseful storytelling by Tana French
Looking for some thrilling storytelling to hold your attention this season? We can't stop talking about author Tana French, who first came on the scene back in 2007 with her debut novel In the Woods. French's books revolve around the same cast of characters from the Dublin Murder Squad, with each novel prominently featuring a minor character from the previous installment. Each book can easily stand on its on, but by weaving the characters' stories together, readers feel connected to and invested in the story.
French begins with detectives Rob Ryan and Cassie Maddox in In the Woods, followed by The Likeness (our personal favorite!), a suspense-mystery revolving around a bizarre case of mistaken identity. The Irish author has continued to write bestsellers with Faithful Place and this year's Broken Harbor.
Her mysteries are chilling and smart; they'll keep you up all night turning pages -- which, in our opinion, is the best compliment for any kind of book.
